Each fall, band members are introduced to the fundamentals of marching band through participation in the North Central Marching Band. The effect is stunning as the North Central Knights take the field with the Northwest Vikings and the West High Trojans to present the Junior High Band Night halftime show.

The Marching Band concludes its brief but exciting season with the Sounds of the Stadium concert, during which the West High, Northwest, and North Central marching bands revisit musical highlights from the marching band season in a spectacular indoor concert.

At the heart of the NC Knights Marching Band is its drumline. During the early mornings of the marching season, the hardworking members of the drumline can frequently be found in the band room learning cadences and preparing for the marching show. Members of the drumline also use their musical expertise to provide an atmosphere of excitement at the fall Spirit Assembly and for the annual Torch Run.

When the marching season draws to a close, students are given the opportunity to explore various jazz styles and techniques by signing up for the NCJH Jazz band.  All students are welcome to participate, regardless of what instrument they play.  The jazz band rehearses two days per week from 7:15-8:00am.  In addition to performing one public concert per trimester, the jazz band also competes in the SEIBA District Jazz Festival.
